Class 45 Patch - Now Available

Following the recent release of the Class 45 pack and the subsequent comments about both the shade of blue, the non matching coaching stock and the incorrect numbering, Richard Fletcher has now provided me with a patch to fix this.

This download applies matching blue livery to the loco and coaching stock, plus correct number font and one or two other modifications. An amended auto-number file for the loco provides prototypical numbering for the Class 45/1 fleet.

This patch is available now from the following link.

GEML Class 90 - First Scotrail Repaint

I have now uploaded another repaint to the DPSimulation website courtesy of Richard Fletcher.

Featuring a Class 90 in First Scotrail livery, this repaint requires the GEML Class 90 pack from Steam in order to work. Please note that this repaint is separate from the FSR loco as available with the AP Waggonz Class 90 pack, and has been created from a new texture set with the idea that it is compatible for use with the Steam Workshop.

It can be downloaded, as ever, by following this link.

I have also uploaded a scenario from Richard, based on the Brighton Mainline. This scenario is also currently available on the Steam Workshop but can also be obtained from the following link.

First Transpennine Express Class 350/4 – Now Available

I have now uploaded an all new repaint to the DPSimulation website courtesy of Richard Fletcher.

Requested by many, the repaint in question is a Class 350/4 in First Transpennine Express livery and includes a custom pantograph. This repaint requires the London to Brighton pack in order to work.

It can be downloaded, as ever, by following this link.

Western Wonders

I have just uploaded some new repaints to the DPSimulation website courtesy of Mungo Design Studios.

Now available are two repaints of the Class 52 'Western' locomotive in Desert Sand and BR Green livery. Both require the Class 52 pack, available from Steam and both also require the Armstrong Powerhouse Class 52 sound pack to be installed.

As part of this batch of uploads, MDS have also provided me with the Class 82 DVT in both EWS and Network Rail liveries.

All of the downloads can be found by clicking here.

WCML Over Shap - Extension to Windermere

Some of you may be aware of the excellent 'WCML Over Shap - Extension to Windermere' route, created by 'n.e.hudson' available on the Steam Workshop.

Due to an issue with the workshop interface, the original upload did not produce the requisite tags that you see on the right hand side, this meant that although the route was finalised following the minimum amount of votes, scenarios would not be accepted.

This has now meant that the route has now been removed and re-uploaded, meaning the couple of thousand or so existing users will unfortunately have to re-subscribe and re-download. This also means that all of the votes have been wiped out.

Now the route is re-uploaded and the tags are correctly displayed, can I call on everyone who has previously downloaded the route, or that is interested in downloading the route to vote once again in order to get the required number of votes for finalisation. Many scenarios have already been created for this fine route and have been waiting in the wings, ready to be uploaded to the workshop. As soon as these votes are gained, the scenarios can be uploaded and hopefully will encourage many more users to create them.

The workshop page for the route can be found here.

TDA Murco Petroleum Tanks

I have just added another upload to the DPSimulation website courtesy of Richard Fletcher.

It features a Murco Petroleum tank in three different variations, two in red/white/blue and one in allover red.  There is also included a later VTG TEA tank in allover red, these being used in traffic alongside the TDA's.

These repaints require the Class 70 pack for the included TEA wagons. However, they were previously also available as a standalone purchase from the Steam store.

They can be downloaded by clicking here.

New Mk1 and JNA Repaints

I have just uploaded more new repaints to the DPSimulation website courtesy of Richard Fletcher.

The first three are geared towards the West Highland Line and include the much requested BSK vehicles in both Blue/Grey and WHL Green/Cream. There is also a fantastic 'Queen Of Scots' pack that features various different Mk1 coaches. All of these require the Class 57 'Railtours' add-on from Steam.

Along with these coaches are another much requested item, a Mendip Rail JNA repaint pack featuring three variations.

All can be downloaded, as ever, by following this link.

East Coast Mainline: North East – Early Access Version Tonight

Later today will see a new release of the East Coast Mainline: North East route for those who have early access. This new version will unclude the new custom quick drive, along with part of the major scenery upgrade between Newcastle and York along with a raft of new assets.

If you would like to gain early access to the new version of the route, you are required to make a donation, via Paypal, to DPSimulation. Early Access was conceived solely to help fund the expansion of the site and maintain the library of free content which as it grows and site traffic increases, our costs increase and it is becoming increasingly difficult to continue funding these costs alone.

If you would like to make a donation and receive early access, simply make a donation using one of the donation buttons on the main website or to the right of this blog post, then fill in a 'Contact Us' form, found at the bottom of any page of the DPSimulation website, stating your Steam username, or a username of your choice. You will then be given secure credentials and access to the early access section of the website.

Likewise, some people who donate are not interested in early access and are merely seeking to help out, of which we are enormously grateful. Donations for this purpose, no matter how small are always appreciated.

Many thanks to all who have supported us so far and enabled us to continue growing.

East Coast Mainline: North East - Newcastle to York Upgrade - Coming Soon

Haven spoken previously about custom quick drive being part of the next update to the East Coast Mainline: North East route, it's probably a good time to point out that the core part of the route, the 80 miles or so between Newcastle and York, is being completely upgraded as well.

When the original groundwork was done on the route, to switch textures, track and add electrification, much of the old detail from the original Newcastle to York route was still in place. This is now in the process of being completely overhauled.

Further new assets have been created to better reflect how the route looks today, stations are being rebuilt or upgraded with additional assets and the lineside is being reworked, adding more detail to give a much more natural look.

This update is scheduled to be released soon, so keep an eye out for further information in the near future.

East Coast Mainline: North East – Custom Quick Drive – Coming Soon

As part of the next update to East Coast Mainline: North East, I will be introducting one of the most requested features that I receive, enhanced quick drive along with further route enhancements and additional custom 3D models.

With the initial instalment set in the period around 2012/2013, this enhanced quick drive has been designed to replicate traffic variation and patterns where possible on the route. With over 60 new custom blueprints that utilise over 30 different types of rolling stock, each drive should nearly always be different from the last.

Whether just taking a short hop from Heaton Depot to Newcastle, or driving the full length from Newcastle to York, AI traffic will always pass in a realistic fashion and on the correct path. Traffic should only spawn where it appears in real life, whether that be a Grand Central HST between Northallerton and York or around Eaglescliffe, or a Class 150 DMU operating in the York area. The consists themselves won't appear reptetive as well, with variations and mixtures in livery along with multiple formations where appropriate.

Yards and sidings will also be populated with trains too, often in different rakes each time you drive. You may see these at Tyne, Thornaby or York yards or points in between, or a Class 67 'Thunderbird' on standby duties at Newcastle if it isn't out driving the network on route learning duties. You might even be lucky enough to see one of the Network Rail test trains out on the network!

This update should be released soon, pending further testing due to the complicated nature of the template setup so keep an eye out for further information in the near future.

West Highland Line: Class 37 - Sound Demonstration

As many will know, the sounds of a locomotive are one of the most important aspects people look for when buying an addon.

Uploaded courtesy of GamesNexxt, here is a sound demonstration of the all new Class 37 as included with the West Highland Line Extension.
