Glorious Devon V1.1 Update

Glorious Devon 1960's has now had an update and is now V1.1.

The team behind the route have worked as quickly as possible to rectify some issues that were present with the first version, including the removal of duplicate asset references and to address some missing objects.

The download page now contains two files, one being the full route updated to V1.1, and another file that contains the update only, for existing owners of the route.

You can now download the update from the routes page of the DPSimulation website by clicking here.

Glorious Devon 1960's - Now Released!

Glorious Devon 1960's
An all new route from Team GD60 which consists of Tristan Peat & Mike Graves, plus help and reference from many members of the community.

The section of the former Great Western Railway that runs along the South Devon coast between Exeter and Paignton is one of the most famous and picturesque locations in England that has captured many people's hearts.

“Glorious Devon” recreates the area as it would have looked in the early 1960's, pre 1964 after which the Beaching cuts took effect. Significant research has been undertaken to achieve the closest possible authenticity, recreated in digital, for the Rail Simulator game. A period of great transition for Britain's railways, from much loved steam traction – Manors, Halls, Castles and Kings, to early classic diesel hydraulics – Hymeks, Warships and Westerns.

Glorious Devon offers great potential for scenario writing, from local passenger services, to inter-regional expresses to London, the Midlands and beyond. Although the location is predominately rural, freight services were varied too, including coal distribution and fuel for a 40MW power station, livestock, milk and china clay.

There is much to discover, from rail connected docks to stations long since closed but now brought back to life.

Requirements
The following routes are essential, the route may not function correctly without them:
Riviera Line:  Steam Store

Falmouth Branch:  Steam Store

Isle Of Wight:  Steam Store
The following routes are required, but the route should be functional in a limited state (i.e missing scenery) without them installed:

West Somerset Railway:  Steam Store

Woodhead Line:  Steam Store

Bristol to Exeter:  Steam Store/Just Trains

Cornish China Clay:  Creative Rail

East Coast Part 1&2 or Part 3:  Creative Rail

The Glorious Devon 1960's route has an extensive list of freeware requirements in order to provide the most authentic possible experience. In order to examine/obtain these requirements before downloading the route, a PDF copy of the manual can be viewed by clicking here. Some of the UKTS requirements are based around signalling on the route, so these will be required to make scenarios function correctly. For users who use the bulk search facility at UKTS, you can view a list of the file numbers by clicking here.
The route also includes five scenarios that utilise the GWR Hall steam locomotive included with the Falmouth Branch route. Further payware requirements are also required, these can be found in the manual provided with the download below, or it can be viewed by clicking here.

The route can be downloaded from the DPSimulation website by following this link

New Repaint Pack Released

I have just uploaded an extremely comprehensive new BR Blue Grey Mk1 coaching pack to the DPSimulation website courtesy of Richard Fletcher.

Utilising the Mk1 coaches included with the Clan 6MT addon, the pack includes nine different variants of passenger coach, including all four sleeper types. Also included are six repaints of the BG full brake, depicting blue and blue grey liveries with branding for Express Parcels and Newspapers, also unbranded versions too (to partially mimic a GUV).

Improvements and modifications include a fully reskinned passenger view and the aliasing of AP sounds, although these are not essential. For the day coaches, empty versions are provided for sidings and ECS workings (except the BSK which has no passengers by default).  An amended .bin file is also provided for a full brake that if included in a non-passenger consist (parcels train for example), it will enable the user to activate station stops. Internal lighting is also added where appropriate to some BG's.

This mammoth coach pack can be downloaded from the 'Coaching Stock' section of Richard's page by following this link.
